Italy seem to be the land of plenty when it comes to power metal bands, so it was quite natural for Benjamin to throw some questions on the digital-path down to guitarist Francesco Tonazzini from the spaghetti-metal band Shining Fury :-)

1. First of all congratulations with your new album! What is your own opinion of the new album?
|
|
"First of all : thank you for your congratulations!:) I'm very satisfied of the final shape of "Another Life" - We have worked very hard during the last year to write and arrange it."

2. How has your new album been received by the media (good & bad)?
|
|
"For now the reactions of media are good, even if there is someone that is tired of listening to this kind of music so doesn't give up a good feedback of "Another Life". As far as the reactions of people are very good! People enjoy the changes of line up and sound."

3. How would you with your own words describe what the line-up changes in the band has meant for your music? How would you describe the communication between you and the new members?
|
|
"I'm a new member so I think I'm not the right person for answering this question…however the sound of Shining Fury now is more powerful and heaviness and the reason are the line up changes. I and the other new members have a musical background much heavy than the other old members. In Shining Fury everybody write music so it's normal that in the last album you can hear new ideas because three of the old five members are changed!"

4. What plans do Alessandro Cola & Tommy Pellegrini have, since they left the band?
|
|
"Alessandro Cola now plays in Oracle Sun.....instead I don't know what is doing now Tommy...probably he is involved in some project but I don't know nothing about him."

5. Since the last album, there have been a lot of expectations to you. Do you believe that you have fulfilled those expectations with the new album?
|
|
"No. I think "Another Life" is a great album, but you have to consider that we have write all songs in a row from January to April and for me, Andrea and Federico this is the debut album. I think we are on the right way to create our personal and that's sure this is not our last shape."

6. What did it mean for the music, that Achim Köhler has mixed the album. What has he done with the album, compared to what other producers can do?
|
|
"Metal Blade choosed Achim Kohler for mixing and mastering "Another Life". Achim is one of the most know guy in Germany and he had mixed a lot of album of this genre. I'm not going to compare him with other producer, I don't know if he is better than the other (..I'm not so practise in this kind of stuff) but that's sure that he has done a beautiful work and he gave us what we were looking for - I hope to work with him again in the future."

7. Where do you see yourself and the band in the metal scene in a couple of years?
|
|
"I don't know…I hope to release another album very soon."
|
|
8. For me it seems that the Italian Metal scene has vanished within the past years, what is your opinion about that? Do you disagree?
|
|
"Yes I disagree…Now in Italy there are a lot of great and well-know band like Rhapsody, Vision Divine and Lacuna Coil. You should consider that here in Italy the metal scene is a bit little and sometimes it's hard to carry on a band or a project …..however the things are changing and now the scene is better than before and the band that I mentioned give you the proof."

9. Do you think that the Metal is endangered with all the illegal home copying that seems unstoppable?
|
|
"Yes - of course all the music business is endangered by the illegal home copying, but I think Metal is one of the genres that is much endangered. "
|

10. Which bands do you see as the most leading within the metal genre nowadays?
|
|
"Of course bands like In Flames, Children of Bodom and As I lay Dying are the most leading in the metal scene."

11. Are there any plans for a tour? In that case - are you going to visit Denmark?
|
|
"For now we haven't a tour confirmed yet…"
